  • THE DRAGONFLY AS A SYMBOL IN DIFFERENT CULTURES

The delicate dragonflies, flying over the surface of the water, have inspired people for centuries. These beautiful insects belong to the Odonata family. According to a legend, the dragonflies have a mythical origin as they are descended from dragons. They have a special place in Asian cultures - in Japan, for example, the dragonfly symbolizes strength, courage, luck and prosperity. But it is a widespread symbol in other cultures as well - the Indian tribes, for example, associate it with agility, speed, but also transience and instability.
